So long Farewell

Dear Parents and Carers,

Where did the year go? It seems like only yesterday that I led the children into our classroom for the first time.  Your wonderful children have brought a smile to my face every single morning.  I have enjoyed the numerous show and tells, jokes, top songs and the impromptu singing and dancing. I’ve had an amazing time and I will definitely miss 5AA next year.

I felt extremely proud watching the class assembly.   The acting skills were phenomenal and the performances brought a tear to my eye.  In the future, I hope to see members of 5AA on a west end stage.

Thank you for the lovely cakes, cards and gifts

I hope that you have a fun-filled summer.

Weekly Round Up

This week in maths we have been focusing on time.  We have learnt how to calculate time intervals by looking at train timetables. If you would like to revise your skills click on the link below.

In literacy we have been describing the main characters in the book Skellig.

On Friday everyone at Rosedale was particularly  excited due to the arrival of MAPP Day.  The children in 5AA spent the day enjoying a range of fun activities such as ice skating, trampolining,  cycling, climbing and cookery. I had a great  time pond dipping.

On Monday and Tuesday I will not be in class as I will be taking part in training events.   I have planned lots exciting lessons for next week such as story writing, cricket and pond dipping.

Parents are welcome to take their children (KS1) after lunch, or at the conclusion of events at 2.45pm.  Please ensure you sign out your child with their class teacher.

Weekly Round Up

We have had a great week in 5AA  The highlight of this week was War Horse.  The show was absolutely fantastic. Throughout the show there were tears, laughter and sadness.

In Maths, we have been revising short division.

In literacy, we are reading Skellig.   We had to close our eyes and visualise the garage from the description in the book. We have written our own descriptions  of the garage. Please come into class to read our descriptions.

Say cheese!

Don’t  forget that on Tuesday we will be having our class photos taken. Remember to wear school uniform.

Inappropriate Blog Post

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am extremely sorry if you had the misfortune to read the previous blog post. At Rosendale we take internet use very seriously and we are extremely upset at the misuse of the class blog.  Miss Atkins and I have spoken to my class and we will take the necessary steps to ensure that this does not happen again.

Have a good weekend

Drawing the garage

As you might know, in literacy we have been reading skellig. We have been describing the garage and now we are drawing it. It is really fun and we smudged it with our fingers to make effects.
